Work Health and Safety (WHS) Consultant

To support our business strategy, we are seeking an experienced WHS professional to join our team in Perth where you will work with our clients to provide a range of WHS solutions. This is a great career opportunity for a motivated WHS professional looking to expand the influence of your skills across organisations at the worldâs leading insurance broker and risk adviser. This position will give you the ability to travel within Australia with occasional overnight and or multiple overnight stays.

In this role you will define and deploy Work Health and Safety programs and initiatives for clients in line with our model and standard of service delivery. You will understand the big picture and be able to clearly articulate services and strategies with rationale through effective written and verbal communication.

We will count on you to:

  • Work with our clients and internal stakeholders to identify and develop bespoke WHS proposals and solutions including, but not limited to audits, inspections, risk assessments, training, workshops, and the development of policies and procedures.

  • Lead on and deliver a broad range of projects within the delivery timeframe and budget to ensure they meet defined project objectives, whilst adhering to our internal processes.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and at-risk clients.

  • Develop and maintain client relationships to expand business opportunities and services.

  • Be an ambassador for the practice, building the Strategic Risk Consulting brand.

  • Continually develop professional skills by engaging in professional development courses.

  • Adhere to the Companyâs Quality practices and other systems and procedures.

  • Comply with the Companyâs Errors and Omissions avoidance policy.

What we would like you to have: 

  • Tertiary degree in Health, Safety or relevant field.

  • 4+ yearsâ experience in a Health and Safety role.

  • Understanding of risk management principles and the ability to apply and communicate these principles in the management of WHS hazards.

  • Experience in a consulting role would be highly regarded.

  • Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (desirable).

  • Exemplar Global OHS auditor accreditation (desirable).

  • A current driver license, own vehicle and willingness to travel as required.

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and standards.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing documented plans, presentations, and related workshop materials with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and client-management skills, both written and verbal, with experience facilitating workshops and presenting.
