What you’ll be doing…
As a Flight Operations Engineer you will develop, maintain and co-ordinate company processes supporting the functions of Aircraft Performance, Weight & Balance and Airport Technical Assessment within the Virgin Australia Group. This includes an occasional oncall (24/7) component.
You will…
- Support stakeholders with completion of project deliverables
- Produce and maintain aircraft performance information for flight crew and other internal customers
- Develop and maintain aircraft loading systems data and processes
- Provide analysis of aircraft fuel efficiency trends via Performance Deterioration Allowances
- Support aircraft air-ground datalink communications functions and system
- Review Navigation Databases for accuracy
- Deliver training, presentations and reports to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. CASA)
- Ensure efficient design and production of aircraft obstacle avoidance procedures in compliance with CAR part 121
You’ll be great in this role if you have…
- A qualification in either Aeronautical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering ( or relevant aviation qualification)
- Have experience in technical and procedural writing and functions requiring high attention to detail
- Intermediate user of the MS Office Suite of applications
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Familiarity with aviation operational and navigational information including Nav Databases
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data in many forms and provide accurate and reliable advice based on this analysis
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to present critical data in an open forum
- Practical knowledge of aerodynamics applicable to large aircraft
Desirable…
- Previous experience in an airline operational environment
- Commercial pilot experience
- Familiarity with BOEING OPT, AFM-DPI, PET apps and CAD software
