Job Description:

Corporate Affairs Director MW – 12 months 

 

We are currently seeking a talented individual to join us as a Corporate Affairs Director on a 12-month contract. As part of Mars Wrigley, the world's leading manufacturer of chocolate, chewing gum, mints, and fruity confections, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our reputation and strategic communications. 

Reporting to the General Manager of Mars Wrigley Australia, the Corporate Affairs Director will be a key member of the MWA Leadership Team. You will lead the Corporate Affairs strategy, aligning it closely with business objectives to safeguard and enhance our corporate reputation. Leading a dedicated team, you will manage internal communications, corporate communications, public relations, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement activities. 

 

What would be your key responsibilities? 

 

  • Leadership and Strategy: Lead and implement the Corporate Affairs strategy aligned with Mars Wrigley's business goals. 

  • Reputation Management: Enhance and protect the corporate brand through effective stakeholder engagement and strategic communications. 

  • Crisis Management: Lead all issues and crisis management efforts, ensuring preparedness and guiding company messaging during critical situations. 

  • Public Affairs: Drive Mars Wrigley Australia's public affairs agenda across health & wellness, industry policy, and sustainability. 

  • Internal Communications: Act as the Change Communications Lead for business initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and engaging associates effectively. 

  • Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government representatives, industry associations, and media. 

  • Team Leadership: Manage a small team, fostering a culture of development and excellence in Corporate Affairs. 

 

What are we looking for? 

You’re an innovative thinker with the ability to embrace change and ambiguity with extensive experience in reputation and issues management, public affairs, internal communications and stakeholder engagement. In addition, you have: 

  • People leadership experience with proven ability to lead, develop and engage teams; 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;  

  • Strong business/commercial acumen and decision-making skills; and 

  • Experience in FMCG or CPG industry - an advantage
