Catering for students from Early Learning Centre (Three Year Old) to Year 12, Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School seeks to provide excellence in education within a caring Christian community and to prepare young women for a personally and professionally fulfilling life.
Ivanhoe Girls’ Aquatics is a small aquatic centre located within Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School. Our after-school program operates between 3.45pm - 7.00pm (Mon - Fri) and 8.00am - 11.30pm (Sat), offering learn to swim lessons to boys and girls from as young as 3 years of age.
Our Centre caters to approximately 400 students, offering small class sizes to our customers. We have a strong focus on stroke development, offering 6 x 30min learn to swim levels and 1 x 45min pre-squad level. Our friendly teachers are highly skilled (AUSTSWIM, ASCTA and Autism Swim qualified) and invested in tailoring their approach to suit each individual student. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and endeavour to apply a person-centred approach to our teaching and customer service.
About the role
The Swim School Coordinator is responsible for the operation and promotion of the commercial Ivanhoe Girls’ Aquatics program and is expected to operate with considerable autonomy in doing so. This includes maintenance and review of the curriculum, liaison with customers, management of billing and lessons, coordination and supervision of staff and administration of the Ivanhoe Girls’ Aquatics online content for promotion and awareness.
The incumbent is effectively ‘the face’ of the Ivanhoe Girls’ Aquatics program and during program hours actively supports families in attendance as well as staff in the water and on pool deck as required. As such, the hours for this position are structured around the program’s operating hours in those weeks when a program is being offered The Swim School Coordinator will also be required to provide some support to the swimming component of the School's Health & Physical Education (HPE) program under the oversight of the Head of HPE.
What you bring
- Proven ability to create and deliver lessons that are responsive to individual and group needs to achieve program outcomes.
- High-level customer liaison capabilities and the ability to positively promote the swim program to prospective families, support customer retention and growth in the program.
- Proven ability to supervise and manage staff.
- Ability to take initiative and work in a self-directed manner.
- Current Working with Children Check for employment.
