Insurance Advisor

What can you expect?

We are currently looking for an Insurance Advisor to join the Private Equity Mergers & Acquisitions (PEMA) team within our Global Specialties division. Preferably based in Sydney, however Melbourne based applicants will be considered. The well-established PEMA team will provide you with an opportunity to learn and grow within the insurance industry, done through our fantastic level of mentoring and development opportunities. You can count on quickly gaining experience on vast range of transactions for Australia and New Zealandâs leading corporations and financial firms.

If successful you will assist across all aspects of client service including client contact and development, administration, and technical support.

We will count on you to:

  • Draft new business proposals, engagement documentation, and due diligence reports and perform related services to targeted prospects and clients, including the coordination of services provided by other practices within Marsh;
  • Support the growth of the PEMA function within the Australia and New Zealand market;
  • Provide risk management advise to buyers and sellers;
  • Maintain a contact database for private equity clients in assisting to develop and nurture relationships with PEMA target clients and prospects with an aim of leveraging these into future business opportunities;
  • Liaise with internal Marsh practice groups to implement insurance placements;
  • Inputs into various due diligence projects, including client reporting;
  • Ensure database are maintained for income and project tracking purposes

What you need to have: 

This position will suit a motivated, detail focused, self-starting individual who is looking for a new challenge.

You will also be able to work efficiently and effectively in both a team environment and independently. If you have outstanding organizational and can prioritize effectively, then we cannot wait to hear from you.

  • Insurance broking, private equity, financial or legal services exposure would be ideal but not essential â 2 to 3 years of experience.
  • Strong data analysis, general and specific document research, report writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate to expert level competency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels including with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ambitious and motivated to grow within the business.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • FSRA Tier 1 compliant or willingness to complete promptly upon employment.
