The Opportunity 

  

A rare opportunity has opened for an Indigenous Cultural Heritage Adviser to join our SA Water partnership working across major infrastructure projects and engaging communities across a range of areas.  The role will see you provide input, advice and expertise on native title, cultural assets, community priorities and communication frameworks. 

 

Our projects are major civil engineering works focused on water pipelines and treatment plants.  You will work within existing legislation and state-based provisions to build and maintain positive relationships, negotiate acceptable and achievable outcomes, deliver relevant training and provide education  

 

 

This is a small team having a major impact on the community.  Your role will provide critical advice on social and environmental impact.  Other duties will involve but not be limited to: 

 

  • Drive the development and implementation of policies and strategies relating to Aboriginal cultural heritage as they relate to SA Water business. 

  • Contribute to the ongoing review and implementation of SA Waterâs Reconciliation Action Plan 

  • Continue to support SA Waterâs leadership role in working with and engaging with Aboriginal communities as part of SA Waterâs activities. 

  • Identify requirements for the management of SA Waterâs cultural heritage assets to ensure their protection and identify opportunities for improvements. 

  • Assess heritage training and cultural awareness needs for SA Water employees and contractors, to ensure appropriate awareness and understanding of Aboriginal cultural and heritage matters and associated procedures as part of SA Waterâs works.
