About Athletics Australia
Athletics Australia (AA) is the governing body for Athletics in this country. It is a National Sporting Organisation whose major partner is the Australian Sports Commission. AA is responsible for all athletics activity, including high performance, participation, coaching, officiating, juniors, para-athletics, domestic and international competition. Athletics Australia has a critical role in leading, fostering and encouraging participation in athletics in Australia and promoting excellence in performance.
Heading towards the 2032 Brisbane Olympics & Paralympics, it is an exciting time to join the Athletics Australia Team, we are currently seeking to recruit a General Manger – Integrity.
About the Role
The General Manger - Integrity will play a crucial role in supporting the CEO, and work alongside members of AA’s Senior Leadership Team, AA’s Board and Committee members, to ensure the organisation has the best practise integrity, risk and compliance systems, processes and policies, while providing leadership in the delivery of safe, ethical, and inclusive practises across athletics.
Your core duties will include;
- Implement the National Integrity Framework (NIF) including processes, policies and procedures that meet the ever-changing landscape of sport integrity in Australia.
- Develop and manage all processes associated with member protection, investigations and tribunals as related to integrity in sport.
- Lead the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of a risk framework.
- Ensure that AA policies reference AA’s values and behaviours and promote inclusion and integrity.
- Liaise with external legal providers and/or consultants to manage integrity issues for AA as required.
- Provision of general legal services in relation but not limited to, Contracts, AA’s Constitution & By-laws, World Athletics Rules and Regulations.
- Coordinate and deliver Athletics Australia specific engagement, education and other strategies based on the safeguarding risks identified.

What we are looking for;
We are looking for a prover performer who has a strong track record of implementing best practise integrity management or similar risk and compliance programs. You will have a strategic mindset and at the same time be able to pivot on a day-to-day basis to address matters in this dynamic sport. Your ability to get things done is critical to your success.
Ideally you will have:
- A minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience as an in-house lawyer, along with a commensurate level of management experience and subject matter expertise in integrity, compliance, and risk ideally within sport.
- Ability to operate with integrity and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a high quality and best practice framework of systems and policies.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of Safeguarding issues, Safeguarding policies, Child Safeguarding legislation and Child Safe Standards.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work constructively with Member Associations and other key partners.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage resources to meet deadlines.
- A keen commitment to clean sport and abiding by AA’s National Integrity Framework suite of policies including the Australian National Anti-doping Policy, Safeguarding Children and Young Persons Policy, and Code of Conduct.
- Hold a current police and working with children check or the ability to obtain prior to the commencement of employment and a current driver's licence.
