Gold Coast Touch Association is a close-knit touch football community with a rich history. We offer weekly competitions three times a week.

Join our team as a Competition Assistant, working alongside the General Manager to ensure smooth operations of our competitions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare facilities for competition play, including opening toilets, referee room, field lights, canteen and setting up fields with cones and pads.
  • Print and prepare scorecards and team sheets ahead of play and prepare in their designated field folders
  • Be the first point of call for Team Check-ins and enquiries
  • Monitor match progress - ensure all games start and end on time
  • Coordinate and greet referees - update SportsM8 with any allocation changes from the night
  • Communicate effectively with referees to ensure they are aware of their allocations
  • Report any referee concerns or admin follow up to the referee coordinator
  • Manage disputes or conflicts that arise during the competition - including incident reports
  • Collection of scorecards and entering details into My sideline application
  • Cross checking registered players and weekly sign on
  • Communication with teams on competition rules e.g. uniforms, registered players.
  • As required, assist with livestreaming and any other relevant aspects of nightly competition
  • Assist the General Manager with other operational tasks or any other duties as required
  • Assist the General Manager with Social Media content - i.e. player of the week interview
  • Canteen assistance - including responsible service of alcohol RSA
  • Assist on event days during school hours

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Administrative experience in community sport clubs is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the sport of Touch Football is beneficial.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate decisions in line with club policies.
  • Clear and confident public speaking skills, and the ability to engage with key stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across phone, face-to-face, and email.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to learn on the run.

GENERAL

  • The role requires 15-20 hours per week, with additional hours for other events.
  • This position typically requires working 2-3 afternoons or nights per week.
  • The applicant must be available on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday Nights.
  • Shifts will generally be between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM, depending on the night of competition and the number of teams playing.
  • Appointment to this position is dependent upon holding or obtaining a satisfactory Working with Children (Blue Card) check.
  • Upon successful appointment to this position, you will be required to complete First Aid and CPR certificates.
