This position is responsible for maintenance and repair services on all heavy commercial fleet (bus and truck) to ensuring all vehicles are maintained in a safe, reliable and roadworthy condition at all times in accordance with relevant acts, regulations, company policies and procedures and Maintenance
Management System.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Conduct preventative vehicle maintenance to ensure that vehicles are maintained to an efficient level and available for all operational needs. Conduct vehicle repair in a timely manner to ensure our required repairs for our fleet are carried out quickly and efficiently. Undertake maintenance and repair work on engines, transmissions, rectify defects / faults in a timely manner. Carry out minor maintenance and repair of ticket machines. Attend break-downs, call-outs and general repair and maintenance work. Maintain and repair air-conditioning (AC) systems, undertake periodic testing of AC units to meet manufacturers specifications, check minor AC parts (gas work is not permitted unless authorized). Perform diagnostic work and program changes using computers to ensure temperatures suit the seasonal conditions Ensure panel and/or glass repairs meet QT / RTA requirements, and as per company specifications. Maintain electrical systems (to your experience / training), seeking advice and direction as required. Perform brake tests (if equipment available), conduct wheel rotations and ensure 100% compliance with both QT / RTA requirements and the manufacturers specifications Undertake regular servicing of our vehicles as identified by Company policies and procedures. Mentor and assist Apprentices and Trade Assistants as requested, focusing on their safety while they undertake their work to their competency level. Ensure work orders are accurately recorded daily for all maintenance work carried out, such as work conducted, labour times and parts allocation recorded on daily work order sheets and daily workshop diary Assist in part stock control, ordering and security QUALIFICATIONS
Trade qualification, Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology working towards a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology. Previous mechanical experience in providing maintenance and repair Medium-rigid license essential, heavy-rigid license preferable. Forklift license (preferable). Exposure to diagnostics via computer-controlled systems is preferable Effective customer service skills Ability to maintain effective working relationship Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
