Event Crew

UniSport Australia is seeking Event Crew volunteers to be part of 2024 UniSport Nationals taking place in the Canberra from 7-13 September 2024. Event Crew are stationed at specific sporting venues to assist the smooth running of a particular sport/s.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will involve:
- Collection of score cards and transfer of results onto summary of results sheets
- Transmission of results at required time to the results centre
- Assist the Competition Manager in duties where required
- Support officials with the checking of sport stamps before participants take the field of play
- Coordinating the daily competitor accreditation checking processes
- Assist with venue set up and pack down including set up and pack down of sporting equipment and field of play requirements, water station refills and other tasks as required
- Assist in tracking sport equipment i.e. ensuring footballs are returned after each game
- Assisting with scoring and timekeeping duties and online results entry where required
- Assist with medal presentation set up and ceremonies where required
- Other duties as required to assist with the successfully delivery of the sport competition
Is this role for you? The Event Crew volunteer role would suit a person with an interest in sporting competitions and/or events.
We are looking for someone who:
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Well-developed customer service and problem-solving skills
- Experience in dealing with a wide variety of people
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Attend training sessions to ensure that you are familiar with event policies and procedures
- Conduct self in a professional manner by being punctual, reliable, and neatly groomed at all times
- Uphold UniSport policies and guidelines
- Enthusiastic and motivated approach
- Exercise judgment and work without supervision
- A friendly and approachable manner
- Attend each day of the competition
- Wear the event uniform as required
Key information:
- This is an event time role requiring availability for 2024 Nationals-Canberra
- Shifts will be available from 7-13 September
- The role will involve some lifting and shifting of equipment such as signage, marquees boxes and tables
- No accommodation or travel expenses will be covered
- A full induction to UniSport, training, uniform, and meals (when on shift) will be provided
- A minimum of 3 shifts will need to be committed to for this role
