Performance Analyst

We are currently seeking to appoint an additional Performance Analyst & Data Scientist to maintain innovative and integrated performance analysis servicing to Cricket Victoria's state teams, and both the Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades WBBL and BBL teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Provide performance analysis across Cricket Victoria's elite teams
• Provide individual player analysis for Cricket Victoria elite teams, Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades throughout the season, as requested by coaches
• Actively facilitate ongoing education of players and coaches, and support them in understanding and optimising performance analysis related outcomes
• Actively engage with relevant SSSM program support staff to provide information and support to further enhance player preparation
• Help coordinate, implement and develop cricket specific performance analysis technology
• Maintain Fairplay database including the maintenance of updated player information and relevant match footage
• Utilise match day statistics to update database and AMS
• Provide training and education and support for coaching staff to facilitate optimised use of Fairplay and other relevant systems
• In conjunction with coaching staff, provide analysis that informs and helps shape team strategy and match preparation
• Prepare and present player performance information to support the selection of CV professional & elite representative teams

About You

The successful candidate will have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as working autonomously with a high level of independence and initiative. They will have strong communication skills to clearly present and simplify complex data, analytics and concepts to a range of stakeholders, including coaches and athletes. The successful candidate will also be passionate about sport and have an understanding of cricket, with the genuine desire to assist our teams in achieving their full potential.

To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:

• Bachelor level qualification in Sport/Exercise Science (or equivalent)
• A minimum of two years relevant experience (Data Science/Performance Analysis) working with elite athletes or teams
• ESSA Registration
• Applied research in the area of Performance Analysis or Data Science
• Experience and competence using computer-based systems to perform statistical modelling, predictive analytics or machine learning processes (Python, R, C++, SPSS, Power BI)
• Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
