Make a meaningful difference with UnitingCare

We're looking for someone who wants to make the world a little better through small moments that leave big impacts. To build meaningful relationships and make a difference in the lives of others.

An integral part of our team as a Case Manager you'll be encouraged to grow, develop and feel empowered to make the everyday easier for the people we care so passionately about.

Let's make a meaningful difference, together.

Your part in our UnitingCare team

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team of dedicated Domestic Violence Outreach Case Managers to provide outreach-based, specialised case management support to women and children who are impacted by domestic and family violence. You will engage the client in processes such as, but not limited to, safety planning, undertaking risk assessments, provision of court support (DV and Family Law), and provision of information and education in relation to domestic and family violence and its impacts.

You will work with families to address issues such as, but not limited to, risk and safety concerns, providing practical and emotional support regarding domestic violence, linking the families with relevant services to meet their needs and supporting the families to obtain safe and sustainable accommodation free from violence.

Due to the inherent requirements of this program's delivery, we require female representation from our Supported Accommodation team; as such, we are currently looking for a Female Support Worker. To be a female is a genuine requirement for the position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1997.

Your part in our UnitingCare team

You will have a strong passion for working with women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, a thorough knowledge of the impacts of domestic and family violence on women and children, and demonstrated skills in applying this knowledge using a strength-based, trauma-informed framework. You will also have experience in running psycho-educational groups and knowledge of group facilitation processes.

In addition to the above, you will also be required to have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Human Service related field
  • Qld Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

Please call Debbie Bruford on 0413 122 361 for more information.

Please ensure you include your resume, cover letter and selection criteria listed below

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human services field with demonstrated skills and experience in working with women and children experiencing domestic and family violence
  • A demonstrated understanding of the issues related to domestic and family violence, the criminal justice response to DV, legislation in relation to Domestic Violence Orders and an understanding of the family law system and child protection system
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills that are consistent with a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach
  • Demonstrated professional integrity, with respect to matters such as privacy, confidentiality and the best interests of the child.
  • Demonstrated ability in facilitating psycho-educational groups and knowledge of group facilitation processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively within a team and to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a case management approach including the ability to maintain client documentation and proficiency in the use of technology including computer systems and software.
  • Ability to work within the beliefs, mission, values and policies of UnitingCare Community and adhere to the provisions of the Workplace Health and Safety and other relevant Legislation as they apply to the region's services
