At Electrical Consultancy WA we are committed to delivering high-quality solutions. As we expand, we're looking for talented individuals to join our engineering team and contribute to assisting our clients with dealing with Western Power. Electrical Consultancy WA (ECWA), based in Booragoon, WA is the largest Energy Broker in Western Australia and one of the leading providers of network applications to Western Power for new connections and power upgrades.

We procure around 1 TWh of electricity contracts for our growing client base and we submit over 300 applications per year to Western Power for our existing and new clients.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and implement electrical designs to Australian Standards and Western Power standards in a full time role. This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to create solutions that meet both technical and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities

  1. Preparation of design applications for submission to our local power authority Western Power.
  2. Project manage Western Power applications for the entire western power process.
  3. Design electrical circuits, systems, and components.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project specifications are met.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in existing systems.
  6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  7. Prepare technical documentation and reports.
  8. Participate in design reviews and propose improvements.
  9. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  2. 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
  3. Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  4. Strong understanding of circuit theory, power distribution, and systems integration.
  5. Experience with the Western Power design process (critical).
  6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  7. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  8. Knowledge of relevant standards, such as IEEE, NEC, etc.

We are a fast-paced company who would like to hear from you if you are well organized, have intermediate or advanced Excel skills, and can deal with a high volume of work.

Summary of role:

  1. Take client enquiries and submit fee proposals.
  2. Complete and submit Western Power applications on behalf of clients.
  3. Project manage each application through to completion.

You must have a legal entitlement to work in Australia.
