About the Position

The Senior Technical Engineering Officer provides essential technical and administrative support to the Transport Infrastructure Manager. Key responsibilities include prioritising forward works, monitoring civil infrastructure projects, and overseeing road reserve compliance for the City.

In this role, you will lead a team focused on projects related to lighting, footpaths, bike paths, and street furniture. You will also ensure the effective progression of Roadside Traffic Management Plans, Crossover, and Verge Bond approvals. Your duties include developing work programs and budgets, preparing and managing tender specifications, and ensuring safety compliance.

Additionally, you will coordinate asset maintenance and capital works, manage CRM systems, liaise with State Government Authorities on utility projects, and contribute to continuous improvement within the Engineering Works branch.

About You

We are looking for someone that has the necessary qualifications and experience in the civil engineering field to provide the technical know-how to successfully manage civil infrastructure programs/projects and road reserve compliance. As such, a high level of understanding in design, construction and maintenance processes is required with proven project management skills a pre-requisite.

This role needs to be able to positively engage with customers in the community when dealing with the more complex civil infrastructure matters. A sound knowledge of compliance, funding and audit requirements within the local government setting would be highly advantageous. We are seeking someone that can work cooperatively with others to create a small but effective high performing team that takes pride in what they do and together create a group identity characterised by the City's values.
