The iiT invites applications for a researcher in biomathematics. We seek researchers to develop tools to investigate and model the interaction of cancer cells, particularly leukemia and lymphoma cells, with the tumor-immune microenvironment and how this interaction changes during disease progression and therapies.
Experience and Expertise
You should have experience in working with large and growing data sets, both descending from clinical data and wet-lab experiments with human and murine cancer cells and cell line experiments. You have experience in mathematical modeling of complex multiparametric data sets, extraction of data from publicly accessible repositories, and data from the literature. You are familiar with biostatistics and can cooperate with biostatisticians. Your work requires integration of your knowledge and expertise in the scientific team to understand cancer immunology and to develop a patentable tool for clinical applications. A university degree in mathematics or equivalent is required to effectively address the challenges in data analysis and mathematical modeling.
Who we are
The iiT (individualized immune Therapy) Research and Development Company (Ltd.) is a novel spinoff of the Salzburg Cancer Research Institute (SCRI) and is tightly embedded in the local research environment (limcr.at and cccit.at) and the pharmaceutical industry. The position will offer an exciting job in a supportive environment in a seminal field of research. The gross annual salary will be 84,000 € (40h/week) but can be negotiated depending on qualifications and relevant professional experience.
