Senior Manager Compliance

We are pleased to be partnering with this leading Australian Industry Superfund to assist with the appointment of a Senior Compliance Manager in this exciting newly created leadership role.
Reporting to the GM Compliance and acting as the 2IC and face of the Compliance function, this outstanding new role will lead a team of Senior Compliance Partners to support business teams in the effective and practical execution of compliance framework.
More specifically, the focus will be to lead and implement a consistent approach to partnering across portfolios whilst directly supporting the Office of the CEO and Company Secretary in any compliance matters relevant to their teams, dealing with escalated or high priority compliance matters across the business. As a senior Compliance leader, the role will also help shape and execute the broader compliance strategy.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement a structured plan and consistent approach to compliance partnering across key business units/portfolios, ensuring adherence to the compliance framework.
- Team leadership and people management, including the recruitment and development of compliance partners and analysts ensuring the team is purpose-driven, capable, empowered, engaged and delivering critical outcomes efficiently and to a high standard.
- Obligations management: ensure the compliance partnering team actively maintains the obligations register (including linked controls) and/or other documented compliance arrangements in accordance with compliance framework.
- Breach oversight: oversee the effectiveness of root cause analysis, rectification (including control uplift or development) and remediation of compliance breaches.
- Privacy oversight: support the GM Compliance as the fund's Privacy Officer through primary responsibility for maintaining the Privacy Framework and the ongoing monitoring of business adherence to the framework and policies.
- Compliance framework and policies: oversee the effectiveness of frameworks and policies within various business functions.
- Compliance assurance: perform and direct compliance partners in performing thematic compliance reviews on areas of high compliance risks.
- Training and development: contribute to the development of compliance training content and conduct training sessions for the stakeholders from Compliance and business functions.
- Management and board reporting.
We are seeking applications from experienced senior compliance professionals with relevant financial services industry experience and expertise preferably within superannuation, investment management, banking or insurance.
You are highly driven and outcome oriented, possessing excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills and a strong client partnering focus. Furthermore, your ability to engage, influence and build strong working relationships with senior business stakeholders will be key to your success.
