Snap Lab is home to our hardware products with a world-class research & development team. We are focused on pushing the boundaries of what a camera can be, specifically overlaying computing on the real world. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.

We are looking for a C/C++ software engineer with passion for XR to join the Snap Lab team

What you’ll do:

  • Lead or participate in the design and architecture of software in both prototype and shipping consumer products.
  • Implement and maintain software to efficiently program software running on AR glasses in a compute-constraint embedded environment.
  • Collaborate with our partner teams to design and write software for Snap OS, the operating system that runs on Spectacles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in system-level programming on a Linux-based operating system.
  • Software development process skills including: source control, bug tracking, and design documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and software debugging skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience.
  • Proficiency in programming C and C++ on Linux-based platforms.
  • Experience with build systems (CMake, Make or similar).
  • Experience with debuggers (gdb, lldb) and version control systems (git).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working on embedded systems.
  • Experience with XR development (Open XR).
  • Experience with Browser engines and Web XR.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field such as computer science or electrical engineering.
