Vienna, Österreich IMP - Research Institute of Molecular Pathology Vollzeit

The Balzarotti and Plaschka labs at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) jointly offer an exciting research opportunity for individuals with a PhD degree in super-resolution microscopy or single-molecule tracking, and a strong interest in human gene expression. If you are passionate and excited to advance your scientific career in an outstanding research environment, you’re the one

We are two internationally leading groups in developing super-resolution microscopy techniques and studying the mechanisms of human mRNA biogenesis, with interests in mRNA transcription, processing, and nuclear export. With this joint position, we combine our complementary strengths to develop projects that bridge our interests to tackle key open questions in gene expression.

We provide an unparalleled training opportunity with world-class support at the group-, institute-, and campus-level. Available resources include custom-built MINFLUX microscopes, on-site mass spectrometry, Cryo-EM (Titan Krios & Glacios), a fully administered compute-cluster, and more.
