Perth Airport is Australia's Western Hub connecting the people, businesses and communities of Western Australia with the rest of Australia and the world. Perth Airport is investing more than $5 billion in new infrastructure to support our airline partners to grow, offering more services to new destinations and an improved customer experience.
Over the coming decade we will expand T1 International, and build new domestic terminal facilities, a parallel runway, two multi-storey carparks and our first airport hotel. This will deliver one airport for the people of Western Australia which will host all flight services in a central location giving passengers a seamless, world-class travel experience.
Our team is currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Advisor – Environment Operations.
What you'll do:
- Ensure Perth Airport's environmental compliance.
- Manage environmental compliance activities associated with operational activities.
- Lead the development and implementation of the Environmental Management System.
- Provide high-level technical advice.
- Oversee environmental monitoring programs.
- Engage with stakeholders and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Lead the tenant audit program and manage environmental incidents.
- Support project and operational teams.
- Mentor team members and foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in environmental performance.
This position requires a proactive approach to risk management and business continuity, ensuring that Perth Airport remains a leader in environmental governance and stewardship.
About You:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 10 years' experience.
- Solid understanding of the current legislative environment relevant to this role.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Environmental Management Systems.
- Well-versed in environmental and heritage compliance and management during development and operations.
- Proficient in using GIS and environmental databases, ideally Envirosys.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong negotiation abilities.
- Experience with the management and remediation of contaminated sites is highly desirable.
