About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Head Coach to join the Guildford and Kalamunda Districts Swimming Club in Kalamunda, Western Australia. Commencing in April after Australian Age Championships - As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for leading and developing the club's swimmers, with a focus on achieving excellent competitive results. This full-time role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the club's performance and the growth of swimming in the local community.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing expert coaching and technical instruction to swimmers of all ages and abilities
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive training programs to improve the performance of individual swimmers and the team as a whole
  • Monitoring and evaluating swimmer progress, making adjustments to training plans as needed, including required skills to move from Learn to Swim to Squad
  • Attending and coaching swimmers at local, regional and national swimming competitions
  • Recruiting and managing a team of assistant coaches to support the delivery of high-quality training sessions
  • Fostering a positive and motivating club culture to encourage swimmer retention and engagement
  • Liaising with club management to ensure the effective operation and continuous improvement of the swimming program

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience as a head coach or senior coach in a competitive swimming environment
  • Proven track record of developing swimmers to achieve excellent competitive results
  • Excellent technical knowledge of swimming techniques and training methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with swimmers, parents, and the broader club community
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of assistant coaches
  • Relevant coaching qualifications and certifications
