Storeman - Warehouse Manager - Storeperson

We are seeking an experienced store person/warehouse operator, who is a seasoned forklift user. This position will see them work independently and under the direction of project supervisors, taking responsibility for our Portolesi Structural Burton warehouse. This is a part-time position at 0.75 FTE: 6-hour days, 5 days a week, likely 6am till 12:30pm (with a break).

Task responsibilities include:

  • The management & storage of tools, equipment, and materials in our warehouse.
  • Arranging materials and equipment as directed for project mobilization.
  • Performing or arranging pick up and delivery of goods as required.
  • Accepting deliveries and cross-checking purchase orders.
  • Occasional placement of routine orders, as well as researching other cost-saving options.
  • Testing & Tagging electrical equipment.
  • Performing minor repair and servicing on company equipment.
  • Maintaining material inventory, expirations, and extensions of warranty.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse and surrounding yard, including simple gardening.
  • Understanding safety and compliance around goods handling, flammables, and shelving limits.
  • Assisting our coating division with the handling of steel members when necessary.
  • Following up with staff regarding overdue equipment returns or tools returned in unacceptable conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Holds a Forklift Licence (HRWL: LF).
  • Moderate understanding of mechanical and electrical tools to provide basic maintenance and repair to company assets.
  • Significant Forklift experience and ability to handle complicated loads.
  • Basic computer skills: emails, Excel spreadsheets using online portals for ordering supplies.
  • Capable and confident to perform all tasks above.

Highly Desirable Candidate Competencies:

  • Holds a suitable industry White Card.
  • Holds a Test & Tag competency.
