"Monstrous Mia", the funnily scary and at the same time very relatable story of a young girl struggling with her identity and while being sent to a monster school finds true friends and goes through personal growth helping her find her own voice. This is a lovely story that will cover cinema canvases in 2026 and we'd love you to be a part of the development of this masterpiece. More precisely speaking, we are looking for a talented Compositing artist.

We are arx anima based in Vienna - Austria, Frankfurt & Leipzig - Germany & Spain. We have been producing animation cinema productions for years and also have the courage to try every new technical challenge and innovation.

Be it pioneering in lighting with Houdini Solaris / USD workflows, the realization of a high-end MoCap studio, or the construction of the largest render farm in Austria. And besides all the R&D, features, and series we love to work on creatively animated commercials and other service work.

Your position:

We are looking for a compositing artist with strong expertise in Nuke and experience in compositing rendered animation sequences. Should have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a methodical approach to workflow management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Composite and integrate multi-shot renders efficiently, maintaining visual continuity across sequences.
2. Ensure all render data remains linear when applying primary color corrections, maintaining consistency in color management.
3. Organize and manage complex compositing projects, keeping track of multiple shots, assets, and layers.
4. Work closely with lighting and rendering teams to optimize and enhance renders before final compositing.
5. Troubleshoot compositing issues and provide creative and technical solutions.
6. Maintain high-quality standards and provide critical feedback to improve final shots.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Expert-level proficiency in Nuke with experience in animated feature films or high-end VFX projects.
2. Strong understanding of render passes and multi-shot workflows.
3. Excellent eye for detail and artistic sense, ensuring the highest quality in composited shots.
4. Highly organized and methodical, capable of keeping track of multiple shots and assets.
5. Basic to intermediate understanding of USD and Houdini is a strong plus.
6. Good technical knowledge of color correction, including maintaining linear workflows and applying primary CC.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with lighting, FX, and rendering departments.
