Data Scientist || Vienna, Austria

Horizons is looking for a Data Scientist with experience in developing statistical and machine learning models in Foreign Exchange applications to join one of our international clients, an Austrian-based FinTech company focused on Big Data and Pattern Recognition.
Contract Location:
- Full-time permanent contract.
- Based in Vienna, Austria.
- Relocation to Vienna is provided by the company.
Key responsabilities:
- Support the data science team: Data aggregation, generation of insights, modelling.
- Development of statistics models / ML models for a range of FX use cases.
- Willingness to learn new languages and frameworks to identify the tools best suited for the objective.
Qualifications Experience:
- Strong knowledge in statistics (beyond simple models).
- Experience in development of machine learning models.
- Background in natural sciences, math, information science or other statistics-adjacent fields.
- Kafka stream processing.
- Collaboration in development teams: Git, CI/CD.
- Timeseries databases / OLTP / OLAP.
- Spark/Scala.
- SQL, Python.
- Experience in high frequency finance / Foreign Exchange is a plus.
