We have an opportunity for an experienced HR/ER professional to join our People Advisory team. Reporting to the Manager – People Advisory, you will support our leaders to provide a great place to work for our employees, and a great service to our customers. As a Senior Advisor you will support leaders minimise risk and improve culture and performance to achieve desired business outcomes.

Some of your day-to-day activities will include:

  1. Providing advice, support and coaching to leaders on matters including performance management, misconduct, grievances, fitness for work, behaviour and team culture.
  2. Undertaking workplace investigations of varying levels of complexity.
  3. Coaching leaders to improve their people management capability.
  4. Providing advice on the interpretation of our enterprise agreement, employment contracts and policies and procedures.
  5. Participating in the identification, implementation and continuous improvement of People Advisory initiatives, processes, policies, and ways of working.

Working within a collaborative, fun and supportive team environment you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills on a variety of matters and projects. You are business focused, great at building relationships and offer strong coaching and mentoring skills. You’ll have the experience and confidence to provide guidance on a range of people matters. A hands-on role, you will be willing to get stuck in, working with the team and leaders to resolve issues effectively.

Key skills and experience

  1. Degree qualification in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
  2. Considerable HR generalist, employee relations and/or case management experience, ideally in a medium to large multi-disciplined organisation.
  3. Experience working with a field based blue collar workforce would be beneficial but is not essential.
