We are partnering with a well-known state organisation to find a Senior Manager Procurement, to lead a newly established team. Reporting into the Divisional Manager Corporate Recruitment, this is a rare opportunity for an experienced procurement professional ready to take the next step in senior leadership, driving strategic frameworks and fostering a high-performance culture.
This role will be pivotal in delivering value-driven procurement strategies, enhancing commercial assurance, and embedding best-practice contract governance. With a strong focus on capability building, industry engagement and continuous improvement, you will shape the organisation's procurement future and elevate supply chain efficiency across the sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor and develop the Procurement Business Partners, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Establish a Community of Practice to drive excellence in procurement and contract management.
- Develop and deliver strategies to enhance commercial assurance and governance frameworks.
- Engage with industry forums to benchmark supply chain performance and share best practices.
- Capability Building & Commercial Assurance
- Design and deliver training programs to enhance commercial acumen across the organisation.
- Develop and implement a robust contract KPI framework to ensure value-for-money outcomes.
- Oversee contract performance monitoring and reporting, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and risk mitigation strategies.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation in procurement and contract management.
- Stakeholder & Industry Engagement
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Establish and lead an industry networking group to drive collaboration and supply chain insights.
- Advocate for increased procurement focus on First Nations and Traditional Owners, embedding Honouring and Healing Country principles into strategy.
- Identify and implement best practices to improve supply chain resilience, sustainability, and efficiency.
- Leverage data analytics and market intelligence to drive strategic decision-making and performance improvements.
- Champion innovation in procurement to drive operational efficiencies and cost savings.
About You
We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement. To be successful, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management, or commercial performance roles.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to build a high-performing team.
- Expertise in procurement governance, risk management and strategic sourcing principles.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing contract KPI frameworks and commercial assurance strategies.
- Ability to translate data insights into strategic procurement decisions.
- Familiarity with Australian procurement and contract governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., CIPS, MCIPS) are highly desirable.
