The opportunity
We are a large scale Mechanical contractor looking for a Senior Project Manager in the Melbourne market. We have a strong presence across the entire Australian industry. The role will be predominantly leading 4-7 Commercial or Light Commercial projects at any one time - typically between $1-5mil in mechanical value.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple HVAC projects, coordinating with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, managing budgets, resources and timelines to meet project objectives
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues and challenges that may impact project delivery, and implement effective strategies to address them
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations
- Lead and mentor junior project managers, providing guidance and support to develop their skills and capabilities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our project management processes and procedures
What we're looking for
- Minimum 8 years of demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Manager in the HVAC industry
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex HVAC projects, with a strong understanding of construction methods, technologies and industry best practices
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Proficient in the use of project management software and tools, with a keen eye for detail and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
- Membership or accreditation with a professional industry body (e.g. AIRAH, HVAC&R Society)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior team members
