General Manager - Finance and Operations

Established in 2006, Credit Connect Group (CCG) is a leader in Non-Bank Lending and First Mortgage Investments in Australia. We connect brokers and borrowers, looking for fast, flexible short-term loans, to Investors, seeking access to income-focused, high-return investments secured by Australian real estate, via an online private investment portal. CCG holds an AFSL and operates a mortgage fund.

As we scale our operations and transition to additional fund structures, we require a high-calibre leader to drive the business forward.

The Role:

We are seeking an exceptional General Manager – Finance & Operations to oversee all financial and operational aspects of the business. This is a critical leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO/Owner and will be pivotal in shaping the company’s future success.

The GM Finance & Operations will be responsible for driving financial performance, operational excellence, and strategic growth, ensuring business scalability as we expand from a contributory fund to additional fund structures. You will lead all financial planning, forecasting, compliance, and reporting while optimising operational processes and ensuring financial controls are robust and effective.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a commercially astute professional with exceptional analytical skills, expertise in construction and development feasibility costings and a deep understanding of fund management, compliance and financial operations. You will be the central point of contact across the business, providing direction to staff while managing key stakeholder relationships and ensuring the CEO is equipped with strategic insights to drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance and operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term growth.
  • Act as the CEO’s right-hand, providing strategic insights and oversight of financial and operational decisions.
  • Oversee forecasting, budgeting, reporting, cash flow and AFSL compliance.
  • Develop and present 1, 2 and 3-year financial plans to support informed decision-making.
  • Drive business scalability, implementing financial systems as we transition to additional fund structures.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and cost analysis for construction and development loans.
  • Assess and approve loan applications as a key member of the Credit Committee.
  • Manage the Fund Admin team, ensuring accurate distributions, transactions, and reporting.
  • Lead data integration projects for enhanced reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Strengthen financial controls and compliance, identifying opportunities for optimisation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for auditors, regulators, and compliance partners.
  • Oversee recruitment, management, and development of key staff to support growth.
  • Monitor key financial and operational metrics, driving strategic improvements.
  • Foster a high-performance culture aligned with the company’s vision.

Qualifications:

  • CA/CPA or IPA qualified.
  • Strong background in conducting construction/development feasibility/loan costings.
  • 10+ years’ experience in senior finance/operational leadership roles.
  • Strong background in financial modelling/forecasting, ASIC compliance, AFSL and strategic planning.
  • Industry experience in property/real estate.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present multi-year financial forecasts and strategic plans.
  • Proven business scaling experience with a track record of leading growth and transformation.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a focus on coaching and development.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with a strong commercial mindset.
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering excellence.
  • Ethical, trustworthy and capable of handling sensitive financial information with discretion.
