The Company

Our client is a well-established and emerging Australian ASX-listed Oil & Gas producer. They have a diverse and stable portfolio of producing and prospective gas tenements across the Northern Territory (NT) and Queensland.

They also operate the largest onshore oil and gas fields in the NT, producing from proven reserves in the Amadeus Basin (west of Alice Springs). The leadership team are proven industry experts who collectively shape the vision and strategy that ensures their ongoing success. Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline and static plant considerations throughout the asset life cycle.
  • Preparation and maintenance of appropriate Engineering standards, Integrity Management Plans (IMPs), Pipeline Integrity Management Systems (PIMSs), Fracture Control Plans (FCPs), supporting guidelines, and operational work instructions relevant to the pipeline discipline.
  • Undertake pipeline/mechanical engineering for small brownfield changes and plant and pipeline maintenance activities (pigging – cleaning and intelligent, inspections, repairs, integrity assessment, depth of cover records, cathodic protection).
  • Lead the preservation and protection of pipeline assets in line with pipeline integrity management plan strategies.
  • Input to, or review of, operating procedures where pipeline and/or mechanical engineering considerations are critical.
  • Lead or coordinate pipeline safety management studies (SMSs) and implement actions as required.
  • Lead pipeline inspection and maintenance campaigns, developing scopes and reviewing results as required by the PIMSs.
  • Identify pipeline network opportunities which could improve operability or simplify maintenance and regulatory burden.
  • Generate or check relevant documents and actions nominated by Pipeline Management Plans across the business.
  • Identify regulatory requirements and deadlines for pipeline assets, and deliver or coordinate the completion of these requirements in a timely and fit-for-purpose manner.
  • Provide support with the business governance of pipeline assets and regulatory compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Must have professional mechanical engineering qualifications & be a member of Engineers Australia (or equivalent) with 5 to 10 years of recent experience in similar or related positions, ideally within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland certification (Necessary).
  • Familiar with the requirements of Australian Standard AS 2885 series (Necessary).
  • Site operations and maintenance engineering support experience (Desired).
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies (Desired).
  • Familiar with Northern Territory pipeline regulations (Desired).
  • Experience in static equipment asset management and inspection assessment (Desired).
