The Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information - Vienna (IQOQI-Vienna) of the Austrian

physics and the physics of quantum information and develop new quantum technologies. The institute is

offering a

PHD STUDENT POSITION (F/M/X)
(part-time/ 30h per week)

in the Quantum Foundations and Quantum Information Theory research group led by Dr. Miguel Navascués.

For the last few years, the Navascués group has been investigating the feasibility of science fiction constructs,

old and new, either by showing that they violate basic physical principles or by proposing actual experimental

implementations.

Now the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI-Vienna) in Vienna is offering a PhD

position to a highly motivated student to work in the field of Quantum Foundations and Quantum

Information Theory.

Your task:

  • Theoretical research at the interface of quantum foundations and quantum information theory

Your profile:

  • A master's degree in physics, or a guarantee to receive one soon.
  • Experience in quantum information theory
  • Experience in convex optimization
