Specifically, our

Responsive Sensing and Analytics team is developing efficient and scalable algorithms to provide emergency services with the necessary safety-relevant information and analysis results based on sensor and IoT systems on unmanned robots or aircraft (drones) in the event of the release of biological, chemical or radiological hazardous substances (CBRN), for example in the event of disasters.

INTERNSHIP "3D POINT CLOUD ANALYSIS AND MODELLING FOR REAL-TIME APPLICATIONS"

CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY

  • Under the guidance of our interdisciplinary team, you will develop and/or assess methods and algorithms for 3D scene analysis and modelling in the context of unmanned vehicle supported emergency operations.
  • You will gain practical experience with one of the leading research companies in Austria.
  • You support us in our national and international projects and get exciting insights into our technological environment.
  • You will have not only the opportunity to discuss your work experiences and results with experienced scientific peers, but also to connect with other Bachelor's, Master's or PhD students.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

  • Completed Bachelor's degree and enrolled in your Master's studies in the field of computer science, mathematics, physics or similar
  • Good programming skills in Python, C++ is a plus
  • Prior experience in at least one area: Point cloud classification, point cloud registration / fusion, change detection, 3D mapping / modelling
  • Experience with ROS and simulation software such as Gazebo is an advantage
  • Experience in machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) is a plus
  • Special interest in applied research and analytical mindset
  • Ability to work in a team, flexibility and commitment
  • Good verbal and written English skills, German skills would be a plus
