Project Overview:


Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.

Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum.

As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.


Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.

Position Overview:


Performs purchasing and expediting activities at a jobsite to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project needs.


What you bring:

  • Prepares bidder prequalifications, bidder lists, negotiation plans, bid solicitations, bid analysis, award recommendations and commitments, including aspects of purchase order administration. Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data, and to followup on material acquisition production progress and shipment
  • Understands and executes work in accordance with the project sourcing strategy, compliance to the Project's Approved Vendors List, project financing considerations, and respective tariff and quota risk
  • Accountable to ensure appropriate approval authorities are obtained prior to executing commitments
  • Responsible for assigned orders from development through closure, to include engagement with other disciplines on purchase requisition development, the acquisition and delivery of purchases, and order closeout; to include supporting management of backcharges and claims.
  • Prepares and organizes assigned Procurementsponsored meetings, such as bid clarification and postaward meetings, for ensuring complete understanding and agreement between Bechtel, the customer and supplier on all purchase order matters for assigned packages.
  • Responsible to maintain supplier relationships with supplier's project personnel executing orders to ensure performance of the work.
  • Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if their programs and work progress meet jobsite requirements
  • Compiles data needed to prepare the critical items reports or other supplementary reports as required
  • Coordinates the accumulation of data from project expediters and issues reports for the expediting group
  • Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors, and construction to establish priorities, sequences, and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly
  • Expedites Bechtel engineering for timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers
  • Represents Purchasing & Expediting at project team meetings
  • Maintains a working file of expediting related documents and memoranda of conversations to record expediting activities.
  • Provides information for area expediting assignments for prime and suborders
  • Participates in pre and postaward meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates
  • Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project traffic representative
  • Reviews material receiving reports against shipping documents to verify that material has been received at jobsite
  • Subject to project requirements, monitors the issuance of material requisitions, and other project and procurement actions affecting material deliveries
  • Coordinates customs clearance (on international jobs) of critical material and equipment with traffic and logistics representatives
