As a University Assistant Praedoc you will complement the research team of the Chair of Societies and Cultures of Memory of Eastern Europe.

Our research focuses on East-Central European and Eastern European history with a particular emphasis on Ukraine - Russia - Poland.

The professorship team currently consists of 2 pre-doctoral researchers and other project staff as well as administrative colleagues.

This is what you will do

:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You will be involved in research projects and scientific studies.
  • You will work on and complete your dissertation.
  • You will independently teach courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement, conduct examinations and supervise students.
  • You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.
  • Participation in the organisation of meetings, conferences and symposia

This is part of your personality

:

  • Completed Master's/Diploma degree in History with a specialisation in Eastern European History
  • Good oral and written communication skills are desirable
  • Very good written and spoken English skills
  • Active and passive language skills in at least one of these languages Ukrainian, Russian, Polish
  • IT user skills
  • You are a team player with high social/communicative skills
  • Teaching experience/experience with elearning is desirable
  • Knowledge of university processes and structures
  • Experience abroad
