Postdoctoral Research Associate (Senior Scientist)

Responsibilities
Research driven development of innovative measurement technology and measurement data
acquisition (e.g. Arduino), rapid prototyping, also as a service for researchers in the lab
Research and development of measuring technology for Danube water operation of the BOKU
River Lab (in particular for the 10m3/s channel) and clear water cycle
Scientific supervision of scientific infrastructure such as large and small hydraulic flumes
Planning and Implementation of (large) scale experiments including scientific, experimental
and measuring design
Scientific investigations in the field of hydraulic engineering, sediment transport and river
research
Publication of the results in international journals and presentation at national/international
conferences
Required skills and qualifications
Doctoral degree/PhD or completion of the doctorate within one year in Civil Engineering,
Environmental Engineering or related university degrees
Knowledge of German and very good knowledge of English
Excellent knowledge and experience in planning and implementing hydraulic scale models, in
particular large scale models on research topics of the Institute
Advanced knowledge of measurement and test engineering
Very good knowledge of PIV and LDV measurements
Desirable skills and qualifications
Experience in project management and in collaboration with workshops teams
Interest and enthusiasm to work in a team
Strong desire for being at the cutting edge of science
