Graphic Arts Assistant

This position is located in the Global eLearning Programme, Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Section (CPCJS), Division for Treaty Affairs (DTA), at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna.

The Graphic Arts Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer of the eLearning Programme.

Responsibilities:

Within limits of assigned authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following specific duties:

  • Assist in the layout and elaboration of information materials and eLearning modules.
  • Assist with scheduling of various components of the production process, e.g. copy and proofreading, graphics, translation services, typesetting, printing, etc.).
  • Liaise with relevant parties on job specifications and approval of mechanicals for dispatch, etc.
  • Track and monitor production flow to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
  • Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
  • Perform other related work as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Job - Specific Qualification

Work Experience

Minimum of three years of working experience in publications production, including desktop publishing, graphic design and layout, or related area, is required.

Experience with e-learning development tools (eg. Articulate, Rise), is required.

Experience within an international Organization or the United Nations system, is desirable.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
