  • Borealis supplies products and services to customers across the globe. OMV's Fuels & Feedstock business produces and markets fuels as well as feedstock for the chemical industry, operates three refineries in Europe, and holds a 15% stake in a refining joint venture in the UAE. OMV operates around 1,700 filling stations in eight European countries. In the Energy segment, OMV explores and produces oil and gas in the four core regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, North Sea, and Asia-Pacific. Average daily production in 2022 amounted to 392 kboe/d. Its activities also include the Low Carbon Business as well as the entire gas business.

    Your tasks
  • Embedded in an advancedthinking and innovative team you ensure the comprehensive 3D plant design process in regards of accessibility, operability, maintainability, constructability, process safety, HSSE, layout according to good engineering practice and technology.
  • In this varied role you collaborate with engineering contractors to ensure adherence to technical requirements, legal standards, and mínimal life cycle costs.
  • You actively engage in contractual workshops focused on codes and standards with engineering contractors, emphasizing companyspecific standards related to plant operability, accessibility, maintainability, process safety, and installation and operational cost considerations.
  • Conducting thorough independent desktop 3D model reviews throughout project lifecycles, documenting punch items and communicating design deficiencies while ensuring prompt rectification makes this job an attractive challenge.
  • Furthermore, you coordinate 30%, 60% and 90% 3D model reviews, approvals of crossdiscipline engineering documents and deliverables, including plot plans, PFDs, P&IDs, 3D models, isometric drawings, and equipment assemblies.
  • Finally, you conduct onsite plant walks, including clarification of tieins, even in challenging environments such as high altitudes or equipment structures.

Profile:

  • You hold a university degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in oil & gas industry either with an operator, an engineering contractor, or an equipment/piping manufacturer.
  • With approximately 8 years' work experience in plant engineering/design of petrochemical or refinery process plants, a university degree is not required.
  • You show excellent specific plant design software skills (e.g., S3D Hexagon, E3D Aveva, etc.) an advantage as well as knowledge in following codes & standards an advantage (PED Pressure Equipment Directive, ASME B31.3 process piping and EN13480 "Metallische industrielle Rohrleitungen").
  • Crossdiscipline understanding (civil, steel, static/rotating equipment, piping and E&IC) and economic understanding helps you to build up a strong network.
  • You are internationally flexible and willing to travel as required by the projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English/German (min. B2) complete your profile.
