As part of the BMBWF initiative 'Bildungsinnovation braucht Bildungsforschung (B3)', JKU is conducting a cooperative doctoral programme with other universities (Pädagogische Hochschule Oberösterreich und Vorarlberg, Alpen Adria Universität Klagenfurt) on the research topics "School Development Counselling", "Early School Leavers" and "Non-Subject-Specific Teaching".

In this context, a total of 6 doctoral positions will be created at the JKU for three years.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and realise a doctoral project within the framework of the doctoral programme on one of the topics: "School Development Counselling", "Early School Leaver" or "Non-SubjectSpecific Teaching".
  • Collection and analysis of data within the framework of one's own doctoral project and possibly in coordination with other dissertations in the programme.
  • By actively participating in the events of the doctoral programme, advance your own doctoral project, coordinate it with those of your colleagues and contribute to the quality of the research in the doctoral programme.
  • Support project management and project coordination/management in the implementation of the doctoral programme
  • Present and publish research findings at (inter)national conferences
  • Hold lectures
  • Participate in the organisation of events and public relations work

Your Qualifications:

  • Completed diploma/Master's degree in teaching or educational science or a comparable social science field of study (e.g., sociology, psychology).
  • Application skills in methods of empirical social research (qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods)
  • Ability to communicate in German and English in a researchrelated manner
  • Independent, conscientious and precise work in a team
  • Proactive communication and action
  • Desirable: experience with educational science topics in research and/or school practice; experience in project research and project management, experience in school or university teaching
  • Good German and English skills (level B2)

What We Offer:
