Lead/Principal Software Engineer (Frontend or Backend) at DER STANDARD

DER STANDARD, Austria's largest quality medium, is looking for individuals with strong principles.

What you will achieve in this role:

  • You will be part of the team that develops our newspaper's online presence, reaching over 1 million daily visitors in Publishing, Community, or Paid-Products areas.
  • You will actively shape our agile development process with Product Managers, UX Designers, & Engineering.
  • You will make architecture decisions alongside the team.
  • Your role allows for both professional and personal growth.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum eight years of Software Engineering experience.
  • Frontend: Proficiency in HTML/CSS, TypeScript, Svelte, React & UI component libraries development.
  • Backend: Experience with TypeScript, AWS PaaS (Lambdas, DynamoDB, etc.).
  • Success handling High-Load Website Projects and CDN load distribution.
  • Experience in complex systems planning & development with Microservice Architecture.
  • Strong communication skills and proactive mindset.
  • Enjoyment of team collaboration.

We offer a monthly gross salary starting from €5,400 for full-time (37 hours per week), with potential for higher pay based on qualifications and experience.
