Department of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Management, Economics & Law.

The position is available from July 1st, 2023, and to be filled as soon as feasible thereafter.

Assistant Professor (postdoc) with QA option (tenure track) (all genders welcome)

Level of employment: 100% (40 hours/week)

Minimum salary:
€ 60,926.60 per annum (gross); classification according to collective agreement: B1 lit.b

Limited to: 6 years (with the option of transitioning to a permanent contract)

Area of responsibility:

• Independent research with the aim of habilitation
• Independent delivery of courses using established and innovative methods
• Participation in research and teaching projects conducted by the department
• Supervision of students
• Participation in organizational and administrative tasks and in quality assurance measures
• Support of management of departmental labs
• Contribution to expanding the international scientific networks of the organizational unit
• Willingness to learn German to a proficiency level that will allow teaching in German within 2 years of appointment

Requirements:

• Excellent doctoral degree in the field of management studies
• Relevant publications in the field of entrepreneurship, preferably in highly ranked journals
• Good knowledge in the field of innovation management
• Good knowledge in empirical research; in particular, qualitative and quantitative methods
• Fluency in English

Desired skills:

• Firstrate knowledge in entrepreneurship, especially in sustainable entrepreneurship
• Sound knowledge of digitalization in the context of entrepreneurship
• Experience in the acquisition and running of thirdparty funded projects and readiness to play an active role in thirdparty funded projects and their acquisition
• Experience with multivariate analysis and case study research, and/or grounded theory research
• Didactic competence and proven successful teaching experience in entrepreneurship and/or innovation management at a higher education institution
• Experience in developing innovative teaching materials and using innovative teaching methods
• Experience in the supervision of Bachelor ́s and Master ́s theses
• Experience in university administration
• Willingness to manage education and/or research labs
• Gender mainstreaming and diversity management skills
• International academic experience
• Fluency in German

Our offer:

This tenure track position includes the option of negotiating a qualification agreement in accordance with Section 27 of the collective agreement for university staff for the areas of research, independent teaching, management and administrative tasks, and experience gained externally (QA).

The employment contract is concluded for the position as Assistant Professor (postdoc) with QA option and stipulates a starting salary of € 4,351.90 gross per month (14 times a year; previous experience deemed relevant to the job can be recognized in accordance with the collective agreement).

Upon entering into the qualification agreement, the position shall be classified as an Assistant Professorship with a minimum gross salary € 5,124.20 per month.

Upon fulfilling the stipulations of the qualification agreement, the post-holder shall be promoted to tenured Associate Professor with a minimum gross salary € 5,545.50 per month.
