Chief Engineer – eDrive

Taking on this role entails the following responsibilities:

  • Leading the design, development, and testing of CycloRotor eDrive electrified system components, including motors, inverters, power distribution, and interfaces
  • Contributing to the requirements, system architecture, and testing procedures
  • Verifying and testing systems on HIL, propulsion system test-bench, and vehicles
  • Implementing standards like DO254, DO160, and ARP4754 to ensure safety, reliability, and quality
  • Designing electric components in the eDrive system for electromagnetic and thermal considerations
  • Evaluating different design options and recommending optimal solutions
  • Resolving technical issues and risks during product development
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and technologies for integration into engineering processes
  • Offering technical guidance, training, and feedback to international customers in workshops and test facilities
  • Serving as a point of contact for sub-suppliers and stakeholders
  • Preparing and delivering technical reports and documentation internally and externally
  • Utilizing tools like MATLAB/Simulink, CFD thermal simulation, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in Electric Drive Systems and/or Inverters, preferably in aviation
  • Solid understanding of Power electronics (e.g., IGBT, MOSFET, DC-link)
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English (German proficiency is beneficial)
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with a strong teamwork approach
  • Familiarity with thermal simulations in electric component contexts is advantageous
  • Experience in test data processing and designing data correlations
  • Skillful in engineering software tools such as MATLAB/Simulink
