Join one of our Data Engineering teams and play a crucial role in Scalable's data journey. This team takes charge of our analytics data stack, establishes and maintains data pipelines, and ensures data is user-friendly for various stakeholders. Their efforts significantly boost a data-driven culture and enhance data literacy at Scalable.

  • Lead a dynamic agile team within our expanding data department
  • Oversee the development of cloud-based data platforms on AWS for analytics and business intelligence
  • Set and execute the team's plan in collaboration with stakeholders from diverse departments
  • Architect an AWS-based streaming and batch processing solution to handle data ingestion from external sources and internal systems
  • Contribute innovative ideas to generate substantial business value from data
  • Choose necessary tools to manage and process large volumes of data
  • Handle various data sources and datasets
  • Assess data quality, implement data health standards, and ensure data accuracy
  • Enhance data pipelines continuously to meet requirements and platform dependencies
  • Supervise data preparation, clean structured and unstructured data, and build data pipelines for advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI applications
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists
  • Create interactive dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Focus on data governance, documentation, and management initiatives
  • Act as a point of contact for business intelligence inquiries, providing actionable insights and recommendations
  • Manage the data engineering team and mentor data engineers to help them achieve their full potential
Requirements
  • Hold a university degree in computer science, engineering, natural science, mathematics, or a related field
  • Possess several years of experience in data engineering
  • Demonstrate leadership experience in a data-centric role
  • Have expertise in developing cloud-based data platforms, preferably on AWS
  • Show proficiency in data project management
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of data-driven business applications
  • Utilize Python for developing data pipelines (additional experience in Java & Kotlin is advantageous)
  • Display a solid business acumen
  • Basic understanding of data science and machine learning models is a plus
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management and English communication skills to articulate insights using data and engage with business leaders
  • Bring a sense of humor and a positive outlook to the team
