PRESS AND MEDIA SPECIALIST (M/F/D) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Press and Media Engagement: Advances U.S. foreign policy objectives through Mission and visiting U.S. official media engagement at all levels while overseeing regular analysis of Austrian media trends and the impact of the Mission's communications. Develops strong working relationships with Austrian and Austria-based media outlets.
  • Strategic Planning: Recommends communications strategies to shape Austrian opinions of the United States and U.S. policy. Acts as the Mission's lead strategist and advisor for public diplomacy engagement within the media sector and actively planning initiatives focusing on long-term policy priorities.
  • Intra- and Interagency Coordination: Develops strong, collaborative press strategies and activities and coordinates media engagement Mission wide while advising Mission personnel on how to best promote U.S. policy positions
