Wien, Österreich Embention Vollzeit € 55.000 - € 85.000/Jahr

At Embention, we have been driven since 2007 by a clear mission: Enabling drones to populate our skies.

We provide over 700 customers across 70 countries with safety-critical avionics and high-performance components, for advanced air mobility (AAM) including UAVs and eVTOL aircraft, all developed in compliance with the highest aeronautical certification standards (DO178C, DO254, STANAG, etc.).

Our technology supports a wide range of programs, from defense and security applications to urban air mobility, cargo transport, and even space-related recovery projects.

The core of Embention is our R&D organization, with more than 150 engineers across multiple disciplines. Together with the rest of the team, we are a global organization of 200+ professionals aligned around one mission.

Today, Embention has a strong presence in Spain, a growing local team in Los Angeles (USA), and a high-tech production facility in Abu Dhabi (UAE).

As part of our strategic growth, we are now strengthening our footprint in Vienna.

If you have a background in flight dynamics, control systems, and simulation and want to work on technology that is ultimately validated in real aircraft, we would love to meet you.

What would your mission be?

Develop and validate flight control systems and simulation models for unmanned aircraft, supporting the design, tuning, and verification of safety-critical avionics from simulation through real-world testing.

You will work with aircraft dynamics and control models to ensure accurate, robust, and reliable behavior before their integration into UAV and eVTOL platforms.

Which will be your responsibilities?

  • Develop flight dynamics and simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink for UAV and eVTOL platforms.
  • Develop, analyze, and tune flight control systems and control laws, including gain tuning and parameter optimization.
  • Model key aircraft dynamics, including aerodynamics, propulsion, actuators, and sensors.
  • Integrate simulation models with Veronte Autopilot to validate complete flight control systems.
  • Perform SIL and HIL simulations for verification, validation, and system integration.
  • Validate and improve models and control strategies using ground and flight test data.
  • Support flight control integration and testing on real aircraft.
  • Document models, test results, and validation activities to ensure traceability in a safety-critical environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Advanced/native German and fluent English.
  • Strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
  • Interest in flight control, simulation, and aerospace technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering team.

What do we value?

  • Academic knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or similar simulation tools.
  • University projects related to flight dynamics, control systems, or aircraft simulation.
  • Basic programming knowledge in Python, C, or C++.
  • Familiarity with control theory, stability, and dynamic systems.
  • Academic projects, internships, or extracurricular activities related to UAVs, drones, or autonomous systems.
  • Interest in flight testing, avionics, and aerospace certification standards.
