An outstanding opportunity awaits a highly motivated Clinical Leader to uphold clinical excellence at a private hospital in Melbourne. This is a permanent, full-time position.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:
- Spearheading the management and supervision of care delivery's practical aspects, from bed management to patient flow strategies, showcasing adept leadership in operational efficiency. Ensuring systematic workforce planning and a commitment to the professional development of the clinical workforce;
- Supporting growth, business development, and responding to business needs identified by the Executive team;
- Establishing robust relationships with the visiting medical officer (VMO) community, fostering collaboration to uphold the highest standards of clinical care, exemplifying leadership in stakeholder engagement;
- Planning and maintaining hospital and departmental budgets, ensuring budgetary requirements are met in consultation with other executive team members;
- Assessing workplace culture and implementing actions to support findings, ensuring a positive workplace culture is maintained;
- Strategically managing Human Resources to anticipate future workforce needs, devising and executing strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent, underscoring proactive leadership in talent management and succession planning.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Function as a proficient clinical operator with a solid understanding of the private hospital legislative landscape;
- Demonstrate sound resource management skills to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of all clinical departments;
- Possess an understanding of the performance levers driving quality business outcomes and have experience in applying quality improvement processes;
- Demonstrate a passion for the success and development of people, coupled with expert communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills;
- Bring senior management experience in the private health sector, leading organisational change and quality improvement processes;
- Exhibit knowledge and understanding of clinical governance and patient safety.

ABOUT THE FACILITY
The hospital, located in Melbourne, will be a 126-bed facility with operating theatres, a cardiac catheter lab, inpatient wards, and a day oncology centre. Future plans allow for the continuing development of the site to continue to grow and meet the health care requirements of the expanding community. This new state-of-the-art hospital is due to open in February 2024.
