Our client is a well established provider of services and products to the resource and construction sectors.

The success and growth of the company has seen employee and contractor numbers reach many hundreds. The Directors wish to support this ongoing growth of the company through appointing a Corporate Accountant to work within the finance division and report directly to the Finance Manager.

The Corporate Accountant will takeresponsibility for accurate and timely financial reporting at a consolidated level in the group. It is expected the commercial acumen of the appointee will be at the level where financial and project level risks can be identified and tabled for discussion. 

The other key mandate of the role is management responsibility for the payroll team and its output. 

Other requirements of this senior accounting position include:

• Accurate capitalisation of assets
• Assisting with annual budget preparation
• Cash flow management
• Establishment of effective KPIs 
• Monthly financial statements preparation
• Oversight of the accounts payable function and adherence to A/P controls
• BAS, FBT, PAYG and other statutory reporting
• Assist with corporate tax return preparation

Importantly, the Corporate Accountant will require superior written and interpersonal communication skills and be confident in team leadership. 

It is expected the appointee will have CA or CPA qualifications and a minimum six years of experience in financial reporting and control in construction, manufacturing or within a resource sector provider.

Alternatively, a minimum six years in professional practice in audit or tax and business services and an understanding of relevant commercial functions will meet expectations for the role.
