This role is based at our mine site locations in the Northeastern Goldfields of WA, with multiple mining operations both open pit and underground. Reporting to the Underground Mining Superintendent, we are currently seeking a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to support our Rosemont underground mining operation. Working closely with our underground mining contractor Barminco, this is a key role responsible for providing high level technical advice, mine planning, design, scheduling and costing input and direction for the operation.

This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster.

About the Role

• Short to medium term mine planning activities;
• Monitoring progress against plan / budget and reporting significant deviations;
• Examining mining methods and equipment to improve performance;
• Overseeing and approving drill and blast plans;
• Monitoring, and simulation of, mine ventilation and dewatering network;
• Supervising the activities of lesser experienced mining engineers and other technical staff.
• Ensuring development and infrastructure designs are practical and cost effective;
• Develop and maintain electronic and other filing systems for mine planning design and construction; and
• Conduct project work as directed by the Underground Mining Manager or General Manager as required.

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering;
• Over 7 years underground mining operational experience in an underground hard rock environment;
• WA First class mine manager’s certificate of competency (preferred but no essential);
• Advanced computer skills required for mine planning, D&B, scheduling, e.g. Surpac, Deswik; and
• Current WA class C manual drivers licence.
