We're excited to offer the opportunity for a Sports Programmer to join the Sports Programming team on a fixed term contract for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The role will see you join the team to assist with the pre-planning and execution of the Olympics and Paralympics on Stan Sport while also assisting with all of our regular programming.

Along with a passion for sport, the ideal candidate will have programming experience in linear and/or nonlinear sports television and/or news/sports websites as well as a solid understanding of the SVOD market.

WHAT YOUR DAY TO DAY LOOKS LIKE

  • Regularly update and curate collections of sport events / competitions for a high-quality content discovery experience, using your inside-out knowledge of the Stan Sport line-up
  • Work closely with external sporting organisations to maintain an accurate and up-to-date sports schedule
  • Work with editors to curate specific content, seizing on reactive opportunities for our audience while also balancing audience interests with the needs of the business
  • Write platform synopses and choose appropriate imagery to keep the platform fresh and up-to-date
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to drive product updates across platforms
  • Utilise carousel and other promotional space to effectively pre-promote upcoming games / races / events and use data / insights to effectively transition audiences to other relevant sports
  • Working with internal teams across technology, live-Operations and customer Service to reduce broadcasting issues from impacting subscribers

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A self-starter with a positive attitude and passion for sport
  • Strong editorial and curation skills, with the ability to create themes and stunts that engage audiences
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, and experience with ratings / other performance metrics
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactivity, quick thinking and the ability to work under pressure
  • Hard-working team player who manages their own workload and has a desire to learn more
