AAIG is a well-known and respected business operating within Australia. We are a company going through exponential growth and operate within a broader group of businesses focused on Share broking, Advisory and Fintech Investment platforms. 

Reporting to the Head of Compliance & Risk, AAIG is recruiting a Group Risk Manager responsible for managing risks and upholding the risk management framework with the HoCR.

Some of your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Uphold risk management framework and maintain adequate risk management systems.
  • Lead risk reviews and implement change management programs to respond to new regulations or changing business activities.
  • Manage AFSL compliance requirements and implement policy and procedures relating to adequate risk management systems.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and direction to a team of internal and external compliance/risk resources.
  • Manage incidents, breaches, reportable situations, and ongoing investigations on risk related matters.
  • Conduct due diligence on suppliers and outsourced service provider reviews on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage risks associated with internal and external dispute matters. 
  • Produce monthly board reports on new risks and risk reviews conducted.
  • Assist with planning and influencing the strategic direction of risk.
  • Assist with the review of risks and uplift in controls drawing on incidents and breaches.
  • Assist HoCR with resource planning and cost allocation project.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree qualified in Business or Risk Management and RG146 accreditation.
  • Minimum 6 years’ recent experience in a risk management role within financial services.
  • Experience acting as the lead on risk projects and delivering these in line with project goals.
  • Experience implementing ISO:31000 standards.
  • Experience implementing an adequate risk management system for an AFSL in line with the Corps Act.
  • Experience identifying risks and improving processes, controls and implementing pragmatic solutions.
  • An exceptional attention to detail and a balanced approach to quality and daily throughput.
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver tasks in final and complete form
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills with commercial acumen to offer pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent organisational skills that enable you to multi-task and work across multiple tasks while ensuring matters are progressing and regulatory deadlines or licensee targets are not compromised.
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
