The Role 

The Assistant Accountant supports the Finance Manager and Financial Accountants in the financial management of the group, ensuring compliance to accounting standards and adherence to statutory reporting and lodgement timelines. The role supports the accurate recording of transactions and contributes to ensuring BBDs close processes are completed with accuracy and on time.

• Preparation of month end procedures – balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, reporting
• Preparation and lodgement of statutory reporting and returns for domestic and international entities
• Manage and reconcile the asset register and CAPEX approval process
• Complete bank transaction reconciliations
• Manage allocated freight and logistics areas including monthly accruals
• Partner with allocated cost centres and review P&Ls
• Support the financial accountants in managing the various entities

To be considered for this role

You will have your accounting degree and ideally 2 years of experience in accounting or a finance team environment. But importantly you will have an eagerness to learn and continue to develop your accounting skills with a view to moving to an Accountant’s role and a CPA qualification in the future. You must have a high attention to detail, excellent excel skills and experience with financial systems.
