ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As the Principal Category, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and executing Category Management activities in line with specified guidelines and business requirements to provide surety of supply and minimise Supply risk for the business.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Develop and execute commercial strategy for category goods and services sourced externally to ensure business continuity and optimal commercial outcomes
• Monitor existing contracts and portfolio of suppliers supporting the business ensuring optimal usage & performance against business expectations, executing contract variations as required
• Execute sourcing activities (including tender preparation and management) and contract negotiations, in alignment with Supply standards and procedures
• Lead and manage complex contractual negotiations with key strategic suppliers, closely coordinating with legal counsel, management, and internal customers
• Ensure timely delivery of sourcing initiates aligned to the sourcing plan and in support of supply metrics

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Demonstrated experience gained in a similar Category role within a Commercial / Supply environment, preferably in mining or heavy industry
• Skilled in developing commercial strategies and leading high value strategic negotiations
• Knowledge and understanding of category management principles and contract law
• Proven ability in building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers

Qualifications for this position are:

• A Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, supply chain management, procurement, law, or related field - (Desirable)
