As the Manager Actuarial Results, you will be responsible for leading the Actuarial Results team in delivering consolidated valuation results from the Consumer, Commercial, Workers’ Compensation and CTP teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Actuarial Results team
  • Deliver monthly Journals and Yield Curves to Finance
  • Responsible for quarterly reporting to Finance for the submission of APRA returns
  • Provide the annual Asbestos valuation report (as at March)
  • Provide consolidated Actuarial Valuation Reports for AAI (as at December and June)
  • Overall Risk Margin and Claims Handling Expense assumptions
  • Work with Finance to embed and improve the new AASB17 reporting approach

Skills & Experience

  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Australia (or equivalent) or close to qualification – Mandatory
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) – Mandatory
  • Strong analytical / technical aptitude – Mandatory
  • Strong experience in spreadsheet modelling (Excel, VBA) – Mandatory
  • 3+ years Actuarial Valuation experience – Desirable
  • Knowledge of IFRS17/AASB17 - Desirable
